The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) during an operation against adulterators on Thursday caught a truck with crew carrying used oil. DG PFA Capt Muhammad Usman (retd) the led the operation during which the team recovered 8,100 liters used hazardous oil. The truck carrying the oil bearing number (LOD 6670) in 45 drums was also detained along with the crew.

According to the details, a week earlier PFA team had caught a group of used oil seller and collected information about other groups. On their information an attempt to supply hazardous oil was foiled in Gujrat and on further investigation came to know about the supply chain and unveiled the faces of this mafia. He also said that used oil extracted from animal filths is most dangerous for human health as it causes several fatal diseases. Recovered hazardous used oil would be handed over to bio-diesel Company.
